सा त्वं सर्वविमोक्षाय तत्त्वमाख्याहि पूच्छत: । तथा विदध्यां सुश्रोणि कृत्यमाशु शुचिस्मिते,सुश्रोणि! मैं पूछ रहा हूँ। सबको संकटसे छुड़ानेके लिये कोई यथार्थ उपाय बताओ। शुचिस्मिते! मैं उस उपायको शीघ्र ही काममें लाऊँगा
sā tvaṁ sarvavimokṣāya tattvam ākhyāhi pṛcchataḥ | tathā vidadhyāṁ suśroṇi kṛtyam āśu śucismite ||
ଏହେତୁ, ସୁଶ୍ରୋଣି! ମୁଁ ପଚାରୁଛି—ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ସଙ୍କଟରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବାର ସତ୍ୟ ଉପାୟ କହ। ଶୁଚିସ୍ମିତେ! ତୁମେ କହିଲେ ମୁଁ ସେଇ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଶୀଘ୍ର କରିଦେବି।
भीष्म उवाच
In a moment of impending catastrophe, Bhīṣma emphasizes seeking the 'tattva'—the truly effective and ethically sound means—and then acting without delay. Right counsel (true principle) should lead to prompt, responsible execution.
Bhīṣma addresses a woman (indicated by epithets like suśroṇi and śucismite), requesting that she disclose a genuine उपाय (means) to free everyone from danger; he assures her that he will immediately implement whatever necessary action she indicates.
