अम्बोपाख्याने तापसानां विचारः तथा होत्रवाहनस्य उपदेशः
Ambā among ascetics; Hotravāhana directs her to Paraśurāma
(अभिनन्दस्व मां राजन् सदा प्रियहिते रताम् । प्रतिपादय मां राजन् धर्मार्थ चैव धर्मतः ।।
abhinandāsva māṃ rājan sadā priyahite ratām | pratipādaya māṃ rājan dharmārthaṃ caiva dharmataḥ || tvaṃ hi manasā dhyātas tvayā cāpy upamantritā ||
“ରାଜନ୍! ମୁଁ ସଦା ତୁମ ପ୍ରିୟ ଓ ହିତରେ ରତ; ମୋତେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ଆନନ୍ଦିତ ହେଅ। ନରେଶ୍ୱର! ଧର୍ମାନୁସାରେ, ଧର୍ମାର୍ଥେ ମୋତେ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରି ତୁମ ପାଦପଦ୍ମେ ସ୍ଥାନ ଦିଅ। ମୁଁ ମନେମନେ ସଦା ତୁମକୁ ଧ୍ୟାନ କରିଛି, ଏବଂ ତୁମେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏକାନ୍ତରେ ମୋତେ ବିବାହ ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବ ଦେଇଥିଲ।” ଏହା ଶୁଣି ଶାଲ୍ୱପତି ହସି ହସି କହିଲେ— “ସୁନ୍ଦରୀ! ତୁମେ ପୂର୍ବେ ଅନ୍ୟର ହୋଇଛ; ତେଣୁ ତୁମକୁ ପତ୍ନୀ କରିବାକୁ ମୋର ଇଚ୍ଛା ନାହିଁ।”
