अग्निर्वाच बृहस्पते न पश्यामि देवराजमिह क्वचित्‌ । आप: शेषता: सदा चाप: प्रवेष्टं नोत्सहाम्पयहम्‌

agnir uvāca bṛhaspate na paśyāmi devarājam iha kvacit | āpaḥ śeṣatāḥ sadā cāpaḥ praveṣṭuṃ notsahāmy aham ||

ଅଗ୍ନି କହିଲେ— “ହେ ବୃହସ୍ପତି! ଏଠାରେ ମୁଁ କେଉଁଠି ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେବରାଜଙ୍କୁ ଦେଖୁନାହିଁ। କେବଳ ଜଳ ମାତ୍ର ଶେଷ—ସେଠି ଖୋଜ ହୋଇନାହିଁ; କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ଜଳରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିବାକୁ ସାହସ କରୁନାହିଁ।”
