Power and invincibility can breed pride that destroys dharma: ignoring a father’s rightful instruction and showing contempt to elders is presented as an ethical downfall, even if one is undefeated by external enemies.
Vāyudeva describes a person whose strength and arrogance have deluded him: he refuses to follow his father’s commands and even disrespects his father, illustrating moral decline within the family sphere.
