जातिं देशं च सत्यं च माहात्म्यं भरतर्षभ | धर्म वृत्ति च विज्ञाय क्षत्रियाणां नराधिप

Transliteration

jātiṃ deśaṃ ca satyaṃ ca māhātmyaṃ bharatarṣabha | dharmavṛttiṃ ca vijñāya kṣatriyāṇāṃ narādhipa rājan bharataśreṣṭha ||

Translation

ବୈଶମ୍ପାୟନ କହିଲେ— ହେ ଭରତଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ରାଜନ! ମହାଭାରତ କଥା ଆରମ୍ଭ ହେଲାପରେ, ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ପର୍ବରେ କ୍ଷତ୍ରିୟମାନଙ୍କର ଜାତି, ଦେଶ, ସତ୍ୟନିଷ୍ଠା, ମାହାତ୍ମ୍ୟ, ଧର୍ମ ଓ ଆଚାରବୃତ୍ତି ଜାଣି, ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯେଯେ ଅର୍ପଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ, ଏବେ ମୁଁ ତାହା ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରୁଛି।
