एतत्‌ ते सर्वमाख्यातं वैशम्पायनकीर्तितम्‌ । व्यासाज्ञया समज्ञातं सर्पसत्रे नूपस्य हि

Transliteration

etat te sarvam ākhyātaṃ vaiśampāyana-kīrtitam | vyāsājñayā samajñātaṃ sarpasatre nṛpasya hi ||

Translation

ଏ ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ମୁଁ ତୁମମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବେ କହିଦେଲି—ରାଜା ଜନମେଜୟଙ୍କ ସର୍ପସତ୍ରରେ ବ୍ୟାସଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାରେ ମୁନିବର ବୈଶମ୍ପାୟନ ଯେ ଇତିହାସ ଘୋଷଣା କରିଥିଲେ। ଶ୍ରୁତ ଓ ପରମ୍ପରାରେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ସେଇ ସମଗ୍ର ଇତିହାସଧାରାକୁ ଏବେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କଲି।
