स्त्रीपर्व १: धृतराष्ट्रशोकः संजयाश्वासनं च

यच्चाश्रुपातात् कलिलं वदनं वहसे नृप । आशान्त्रदृष्टमेतद्धि न प्रशंसन्ति पण्डिता:,“नरेश्वरर आप जो आँसुओंकी धारासे भीगा हुआ मुँह लिये फिरते हैं, यह अशास्त्रीय कार्य है। विद्वान् पुरुष इसकी प्रशंसा नहीं करते हैं
yaccāśrupātāt kalilaṁ vadanaṁ vahase nṛpa | aśāstradṛṣṭam etaddhi na praśaṁsanti paṇḍitāḥ ||
ବୈଶମ୍ପାୟନ କହିଲେ—ହେ ନୃପ! ଅଶ୍ରୁପାତରେ ଭିଜି ମଲିନ ହୋଇଥିବା ମୁହଁ ନେଇ ତୁମେ ଯେ ଘୁରୁଛ, ଏହା ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରସମ୍ମତ ନୁହେଁ; ପଣ୍ଡିତମାନେ ଏପରି ଆଚରଣକୁ ପ୍ରଶଂସା କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।
