अरण्यवृत्ति-वैराग्योपदेशः | Forest Discipline and the Program of Non-Attachment
तेषु नित्यमसक्तश्न त्यक्तसर्वेन्द्रियक्रिय: । सुपरित्यक्तसंकल्प: सुनिर्णिक्तात्मकल्मष:
teṣu nityam asaktaḥ syan tyakta-sarvendriya-kriyaḥ | suparityakta-saṅkalpaḥ sunirṇiktātma-kalmaṣaḥ ||
ଯୁଧିଷ୍ଠିର କହିଲେ— “ସେଇ କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ଲାଗିଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ମୁଁ ସଦା ଅନାସକ୍ତ ରହିବି। ସମସ୍ତ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ-ବ୍ୟାପାରରୁ ଉପରତ ହୋଇ, ମନକୁ ସଙ୍କଳ୍ପ-ଆଗ୍ରହରୁ ଶୂନ୍ୟ କରି, ଅନ୍ତଃକରଣର ସମସ୍ତ କଲ୍ମଷ ଧୋଇ ଦେବି।”
युधिछिर उवाच
One should perform necessary duties without attachment, restrain the senses, relinquish desire-driven mental constructions (saṅkalpa), and purify the inner self—linking ethical action with inner renunciation.
In Śānti Parva’s instruction-oriented setting, Yudhiṣṭhira articulates his resolve for a disciplined life: even amid action, he aims for non-attachment, sensory withdrawal, and inner cleansing as the basis for righteous living.
