ऐल उवाच
A ruler’s pursuit of merit and heavenly reward should be guided by dharma: wealth and conquered resources are to be placed under the stewardship of a qualified, self-restrained Brahmin-priest—learned, of good conduct, and not motivated by greed—so that power is checked by ethical counsel and right distribution.
Aila advises the addressee on how to act after victory and conquest: if the goal is spiritual merit through faithful performance of one’s duty, the king should appoint a worthy Brahmin as purohita and entrust conquered land/resources to him, emphasizing moral qualification over wealth-seeking.
