सत्यार्जवं चातिथिपूजनं च धर्मस्तथार्थश्ष रति: स्वदारै: | निषेवितव्यानि सुखानि लोके हास्मिन्‌ परे चैव मतं ममैतत्‌

Transliteration

satyārjavaṃ cātithipūjanaṃ ca dharmas tathārthaś ca ratiḥ svadāraiḥ | niṣevitavyāni sukhāni loke hāsmin pare caiva mataṃ mamaitat ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ସତ୍ୟ, ସରଳତା, ଅତିଥି-ସତ୍କାର, ଧର୍ମ ଓ ଅର୍ଥର ସାଧନ, ଏବଂ ନିଜ ପତ୍ନୀ ପ୍ରତି ନିଷ୍ଠାପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଅନୁରାଗ—ଏହିମାନେ ଗୃହସ୍ଥଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଏହି ଲୋକର ଯଥାର୍ଥ ସୁଖ। ଏମାନେ ଆଚରଣ କଲେ ପରଲୋକରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସୁଖ ମିଳେ; ଏହା ମୋର ମତ।
