brāhmaṇa uvāca: evam etan mahāprājña viditātman bhujaṅgama. nātikrāntās tvayā devāḥ sarvaśaiva yathātatham.
True superiority is measured by realized wisdom and self-knowledge (viditātman), not merely by divine status; the Brāhmaṇa affirms that insight into reality can stand equal to or beyond the gods.
A Brāhmaṇa addresses a serpent-king (nāgarāja/bhujaṅgama), confirming the serpent’s profound understanding and declaring that even the gods have not exceeded him—an emphatic endorsement of the truth just stated.
