एष मे निश्चय: साधो कृतं कारणमुनत्तमम् । आमन्त्रयामि भद्र ते कृतार्थोडस्मि भुजजड्रम
eṣa me niścayaḥ sādho kṛtaṃ kāraṇam uttamam | āmantrayāmi bhadra te kṛtārtho ’smi bhujaṅgama mahātman ||
ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ କହିଲେ—ହେ ସାଧୁ! ଏହା ମୋର ଦୃଢ଼ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ। ଆପଣ ମୋର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକୁ ଅତ୍ୟୁତ୍ତମ ଭାବେ ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ କରିଦେଲେ। ଆପଣଙ୍କ ମଙ୍ଗଳ ହେଉ। ହେ ଭୁଜଙ୍ଗମ, ମହାତ୍ମନ୍! ମୁଁ କୃତାର୍ଥ; ଏବେ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ ପାଇଁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଅନୁମତି ଚାହୁଁଛି।
ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse highlights ethical speech and conduct: once one’s purpose is fulfilled, one should express gratitude, offer auspicious wishes, and seek leave respectfully—showing humility and propriety even toward a non-human being.
A brāhmaṇa addresses a serpent who has helped accomplish his objective. Declaring his resolve satisfied and his task completed, he blesses the serpent and formally asks permission to depart.
