जनक उवाच यत्‌ कार्य ब्राह्मणेनेह जन्मप्रभृति तच्छृणु । कृतोपनयनस्तात भवेद्‌ वेदपरायण:

Transliteration

janaka uvāca yat kāryaṃ brāhmaṇeneha janma-prabhṛti tac chṛṇu | kṛtopanayanaḥ tāta bhaved veda-parāyaṇaḥ ||

Translation

ଜନକ କହିଲେ—ବତ୍ସ! ଜନ୍ମରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରି ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ ଯେଯେ କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟ କରିବା ଉଚିତ, ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଶୁଣ। ଉପନୟନ ସଂସ୍କାର ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ ହେଲାପରେ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ-ବାଳକ ବେଦାଧ୍ୟୟନ ଓ ବେଦପାଠରେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବେ ନିବିଷ୍ଟ ହେବା ଉଚିତ।
