Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship

Time relentlessly reduces one’s lifespan; therefore one should not remain idle or complacent. The verse urges immediate, energetic engagement in one’s dharma—right action and duty—before life is exhausted.
Vyāsa admonishes the listener with a vivid image: days are being counted, life is diminishing, and one’s remaining life is as if being recorded toward its end. He presses the hearer to ‘rise and run’—to act promptly and responsibly rather than delay.
