उपह्वरे निवसतो यस्याड्के निषसाद ह । गड़ा भागीरथी तस्मादुर्वशी चाभवत् पुरा,“तटके निकट निवास करते समय गंगाजी राजा भगीरथकी गोदमें आ बैठी थीं। इसलिये वे पूर्वकालमें भागीरथी और उर्वशी नामसे प्रसिद्ध हुईं
upahvare nivasato yasyāṅke niṣasāda ha | gaṅgā bhāgīrathī tasmād urvaśī cābhavat purā ||
ବାୟୁ କହିଲେ—ନଦୀତଟ ନିକଟରେ ବାସ କରୁଥିବାବେଳେ ଏକଥର ଗଙ୍ଗା ତାଙ୍କ ଅଙ୍କରେ ଆସି ବସିଥିଲେ। ସେହି ପ୍ରାଚୀନ ଘଟଣାରୁ ସେ ‘ଭାଗୀରଥୀ’ ଓ ‘ଉର୍ବଶୀ’ ନାମରେ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ହେଲେ।
