Chapter 29
सर्वेडप्यभिमुखा: शूरा विजिता रणशोभिन: । नैषां कश्चित् पृष्ठतो वा पलायन वापि पातित:
sarve 'py abhimukhāḥ śūrā vijitā raṇaśobhināḥ | naiṣāṃ kaścit pṛṣṭhato vā palāyana vāpi pātitaḥ ||
ସେମାନେ ସମସ୍ତେ ରଣଶୋଭା ବଢ଼ାଇଥିବା ଶୂର; ଶତ୍ରୁଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ମୁଖୀନ ହୋଇ ଯୁଦ୍ଧରେ ହିଁ ପରାଜିତ ହୋଇଛନ୍ତି। ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି ପିଠିରେ ଆଘାତ ଖାଇ କିମ୍ବା ପଳାଇବାବେଳେ ପଡ଼ିନାହାନ୍ତି।
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse praises steadfast courage: a warrior’s honor lies in confronting danger directly and not abandoning duty through fear. Ethically, it elevates resolve and responsibility over self-preservation when one has accepted a righteous role.
Vāyudeva describes a group of warriors as victorious and battle-glorious, emphasizing that none were slain while fleeing or with their backs turned—highlighting their disciplined bravery and adherence to the warrior code.
