Livelihood, Virtuous Association, and Ethics of Giving
उस समय इन्द्र आदि सब देवताओंने दक्ष प्रजापतिके यज्ञमें जानेके लिये परस्पर मिलकर निश्चय किया ।।
te vimānair mahātmāno jvalanārka-samaprabhaiḥ | devasyānumate ’gacchan gaṅgādvāram iti śrutiḥ ||
ସେତେବେଳେ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ର ଆଦି ସମସ୍ତ ଦେବତା ପରସ୍ପର ମିଳି ଦକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରଜାପତିଙ୍କ ଯଜ୍ଞକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ କଲେ। ଅଗ୍ନି ଓ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ସମ ଦୀପ୍ତିମାନ ବିମାନରେ ଆରୋହଣ କରି, ମହାଦେବଙ୍କ ଅନୁମତିରେ ସେମାନେ ଗଙ୍ଗାଦ୍ୱାର (ହରିଦ୍ୱାର)କୁ ଗଲେ—ଏହିପରି ପରମ୍ପରାରେ ଶୁଣାଯାଏ।
भीष्म उवाच
Even divine beings act through consultation and proper authorization: collective resolve (saṅgati) and deference to higher spiritual authority (Mahadeva’s assent) frame action within dharma, especially in sacred contexts like yajña and tīrtha.
Bhishma reports a traditional account: the gods, led by Indra, decide to attend Daksha’s sacrifice and travel in brilliant vimanas; after obtaining Mahadeva’s permission, they proceed to Gangadvara (Haridwar).
