Illusion (māyā) is overcome by restored discernment (buddhi) and disciplined inner power (yoga). Ethically, the verse emphasizes clarity of judgment and self-mastery as prerequisites for right action.
Bhīṣma describes Indra (Pākaśāsana) coming back to clear understanding and, using great yogic power, removing a deceptive māyā that had been operating—signaling a turning point from confusion to clarity.
