श्रेयो-धर्मकर्मविचारः
Inquiry into Śreyas, Dharma, and Karma
ये तु च्युता: सिद्धलोकात् क्रमेण तेषां गति यान्ति तथा<<नुपूर्व्या जीवा: परे तद्धलतुल्यरूपा: स्वं स्वं विधि यान्ति विपर्ययेण
ye tu cyutāḥ siddhalokāt krameṇa teṣāṃ gatiṃ yānti tathānupūrvyāḥ | jīvāḥ pare taddhalatulyarūpāḥ svaṃ svaṃ vidhiṃ yānti viparyayeṇa ||
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ— ଯେମାନେ ସିଦ୍ଧଲୋକରୁ ଚ୍ୟୁତ ହୋଇ କ୍ରମେ ନିମ୍ନଲୋକକୁ ଅବତରଣ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସମାନ ସାଧନବଳ ଥିବା ଅନ୍ୟ ଜୀବମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଲୋକରୁ ଲୋକକୁ କ୍ରମଶଃ ଗମନ କରି ଉର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱମୁଖୀ ହୋଇ ଶେଷରେ ସେହି ସିଦ୍ଧମାନଙ୍କ ଗତିକୁ ହିଁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ କରନ୍ତି। କିନ୍ତୁ ଯେମାନେ ଏପରି ନୁହନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ବିପରୀତ ସ୍ୱଭାବରୁ ନିଜ-ନିଜ ଗତିକୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି।

In Bhishma’s instruction on dharma and liberation-oriented conduct, he explains a cosmological-ethical principle: beings may fall from a perfected realm, yet through comparable practice they can again rise stepwise; otherwise, due to contrary tendencies, they reach different destinations.
