उपद्रवांस्तथा रोगान् हितजीर्णमिताशनात् । लोभ मोहं च संतोषाद् विषयांस्तत्त्वदर्शनात्
bhīṣma uvāca | upadravāṁs tathā rogān hitajīrṇamitāśanāt | lobha-mohaṁ ca santoṣād viṣayāṁs tattva-darśanāt |
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ହିତକର, ସହଜେ ପଚେଇହେବା ଓ ପରିମିତ ଆହାର ଦ୍ୱାରା ଶରୀରୀକ ଉପଦ୍ରବ ଓ ରୋଗକୁ ନିବାରଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ। ସନ୍ତୋଷ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲୋଭ ଓ ମୋହକୁ ଜୟ କରିବା, ଏବଂ ବିଷୟମାନଙ୍କର ତତ୍ତ୍ୱଦର୍ଶନରେ ଆସକ୍ତିକୁ ସଂଯମ କରିବା ଉଚିତ।
भीष्म उवाच
Ethical self-governance begins with practical discipline: moderate, wholesome, digestible food prevents bodily afflictions; contentment counters greed and delusion; and insight into reality weakens fixation on sense-pleasures.
