Adhyāya 270 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s inquiry on saṃnyāsa; Bhīṣma on calculable time, tamas, and karma
Vṛtra–Uśanā exemplum begins
कामलोभानुबन्धेन पुरा ते यदसूयितम् । मया स्नेहमविज्ञाय तत्र मे क्षन्तुमहसि
kāmalobhānubandhena purā te yad asūyitam | mayā sneham avijñāya tatra me kṣantum arhasi ||
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ପୂର୍ବେ କାମ ଓ ଲୋଭର ଅନୁବନ୍ଧରେ ପଡ଼ି ମୁଁ ତୁମ ପ୍ରତି ଯେ ଅସୂୟାଭରା କଥା କହିଥିଲି, ସେଥିରେ ଥିବା ସ୍ନେହକୁ ନ ବୁଝି ମୁଁ ଭୁଲ କରିଥିଲି; ସେ ଅପରାଧ ପାଇଁ ତୁମେ ମୋତେ କ୍ଷମା କରିବା ଉଚିତ।
