परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269

उत्पन्नत्यागिनो<लुब्धा: कृपासूयाविवर्जिता: । धनानामेष वै पन्थास्तीर्थेषु प्रतिपादनम्‌

utpanna-tyāgino 'lubdhāḥ kṛpā-sūyā-vivarjitāḥ | dhanānām eṣa vai panthās tīrtheṣu pratipādanam ||

କପିଳ କହିଲେ—ଯେମାନେ ନିଜ ପାଖକୁ ଯାହା ଆସେ ତାହାକୁ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରନ୍ତି, ଲୋଭରହିତ ରହନ୍ତି, କୃପଣତା ଓ ଅସୂୟା-ଇର୍ଷ୍ୟାରୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ଥାନ୍ତି, ଏବଂ “ଧନ ବିଷୟରେ ଏହିଏ ଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ପଥ” ବୋଲି ଭାବି ତୀର୍ଥରେ ଓ ଶୁଭକାଳରେ ସତ୍ପାତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ଦାନ ଅର୍ପଣ କରନ୍ତି—ସେମାନେ କେବେ ପାପକର୍ମର ଆଶ୍ରୟ ନେନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ସେମାନେ ସଦା କର୍ମଯୋଗର ସାଧନାରେ ନିୟତ ଥାନ୍ତି; ତେଣୁ ତାଙ୍କର ମନସଙ୍କଳ୍ପ ସିଦ୍ଧ ହେବାକୁ ଲାଗେ ଏବଂ ବିଶୁଦ୍ଧ ଜ୍ଞାନସ୍ୱରୂପ ପରବ୍ରହ୍ମ ବିଷୟରେ ଦୃଢ଼ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ହୁଏ।
