मूलैरेके फलैरेके पुष्पैरेके दृढव्रता:

ବ୍ୟାସ କହିଲେ—“କେହି ଦୃଢ଼ବ୍ରତୀ ମୂଳ ଖାଇ ଜୀବନ ଧାରଣ କରନ୍ତି; କେହି ଫଳ; ଆଉ କେହି ପୁଷ୍ପ।”
व्यास उवाच
True dharmic discipline can be expressed through regulated living and firm vows; simplicity in food (roots, fruits, flowers) symbolizes mastery over desire and commitment to austerity.
Vyāsa describes categories of vow-observing ascetics, distinguishing them by what they subsist on, to illustrate varying practices of renunciation and steadfastness.
