Shloka 31

Śaṅkha–Likhita Upākhyāna: Daṇḍa, Confession, and the Purification of Kingship (शङ्ख-लिखितोपाख्यानम्)

विद्वांस्त्यागी श्रद्दधधान: कृतज्ञ- स्त्यक्त्वा लोकं मानुषं कर्म कृत्वा । मेधाविनां विदुषां सम्मतानां तनुत्यजां लोकमाक्रम्य राजा

Transliteration

vidvāṁs tyāgī śraddadhānaḥ kṛtajñas tyaktvā lokaṁ mānuṣaṁ karma kṛtvā | medhāvināṁ viduṣāṁ sammatānāṁ tanutyajāṁ lokam ākramya rājā ||

Translation

ବୈଶମ୍ପାୟନ କହିଲେ— ସେ ରାଜା ବିଦ୍ୱାନ, ତ୍ୟାଗୀ, ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧାଳୁ ଓ କୃତଜ୍ଞ ଥିଲେ। ମାନବଲୋକରେ ନିଜ କର୍ତ୍ତବ୍ୟକର୍ମ ସମ୍ପାଦନ କରି, ଏହି ଲୋକକୁ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରି, ସେ ମେଧାବୀ ଓ ପଣ୍ଡିତ, ସର୍ବସମ୍ମାନିତ, ଏବଂ ପୁଣ୍ୟତୀର୍ଥରେ ଦେହତ୍ୟାଗ କରୁଥିବା ପୁଣ୍ୟାତ୍ମାମାନଙ୍କ ଲୋକକୁ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ସେଠାରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ।
