अधर्मान्त्हिता वेदा वेदधर्मास्तथा55 श्रमा: । विक्रियन्ते स्वधर्मस्था: स्थावराणि चराणि च
adharmāntarhitā vedā vedadharmās tathāśramāḥ | vikriyante svadharmasthāḥ sthāvarāṇi carāṇi ca ||
ବ୍ୟାସ କହିଲେ—ଯେତେବେଳେ ଅଧର୍ମ ପ୍ରବଳ ହୁଏ, ସେତେବେଳେ ବେଦ ମାନେ ଯେନେ ଅନ୍ତର୍ହିତ ହୋଇଯାନ୍ତି; ବେଦଧର୍ମ ଓ ଆଶ୍ରମଧର୍ମ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆବୃତ ହୋଇଯାଏ। ତେବେ ସ୍ୱଧର୍ମରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ସ୍ଥାବର-ଜଙ୍ଗମ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଣୀ ଧର୍ମରୁ ବିକୃତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ସର୍ବତ୍ର ବିକାର ଜନ୍ମ ନେଇଥାଏ।
