ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana
River-of-Saṃsāra Metaphor
न चेदमचलं स्थानमनन्तं वापि कस्यचित् । त्वं तु बालिशया बुद्धया ममेदमिति मन््यसे
na cedam acalaṁ sthānam anantaṁ vāpi kasyacit | tvaṁ tu bāliśayā buddhyā mamedam iti manyase ||
ଏହି ପଦ କାହା ପାଇଁ ଅଚଳ ନୁହେଁ, କାହା ପାଇଁ ଅନନ୍ତ ମଧ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ। ତଥାପି ତୁମେ ବାଳିଶ ଓ ମୋହାବୃତ ବୁଦ୍ଧିରେ ‘ଏହା ମୋର’ ବୋଲି ଭାବୁଛ। ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରପଦ ମଧ୍ୟ କେବେ ସ୍ଥାୟୀ ସିଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇନାହିଁ—ଅନେକେ ଏହା ଧାରଣ କରି ଚାଲିଗଲେ। ତେଣୁ ସତ୍ତାକୁ ସ୍ୱାମିତ୍ୱ ଭାବି ଧରି ରୁହନି; ତାହାର ଅନିତ୍ୟତା ଜାଣି ଧର୍ମ ଓ ବିନୟରେ ଚଳ।
