हत्वा जित्वा च मघवन्‌ यः कश्ित्‌ पुरुषायते । अकर्ता होव भवति कर्ता होव करोति तत्‌

Transliteration

hatvā jitvā ca maghavan yaḥ kaścit puruṣāyate | akartā hova bhavati kartā hova karoti tat, maghavan ||

Translation

ଶକ୍ର କହିଲେ—ହେ ମଘବନ! ଯେ କେହି ହତ୍ୟା କରି କିମ୍ବା ଜୟ କରି ନିଜ ପୌରୁଷରେ ଗର୍ବ କରେ, ସେ ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ସେହି କର୍ମର କର୍ତ୍ତା ନୁହେଁ; କାରଣ ଜଗତ୍‌ର କର୍ତ୍ତା ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ହିଁ ସେହି କର୍ମର ମଧ୍ୟ କର୍ତ୍ତା—ସେଇ ତାହାକୁ ସିଦ୍ଧ କରନ୍ତି।
