इमं क्षितितले त्यक्त्वा बाल॑ रूपसमन्वितम्,यह सुन्दर बालक तुम्हारे कुलकी शोभा बढ़ानेवाला है। यह रूप और यौवनसे सम्पन्न है तथा अपनी कान्तिसे प्रकाशित हो रहा है। मूर्खो! इस पुत्रको पृथ्वीपर डालकर तुम कहाँ जाओगे?
imaṃ kṣititale tyaktvā bāla-rūpa-samanvitam | yaḥ sundaraḥ bālakaḥ tumhāre kulakī śobhā baḍhāne-vālā hai | ayaṃ rūpa-yauvanena sampannaḥ tathā svayā kāntyā prakāśitaḥ | mūrkhāḥ! asya putrasya pṛthivyāṃ nikṣepya yūyaṃ kva gamiṣyatha?
ଜମ୍ବୁକ କହିଲା: ଏହି ବାଳରୂପସମନ୍ୱିତ ଶିଶୁକୁ ଭୂମିରେ ଫେଳିଦେଇ ତୁମେ କେଉଁଠି ଯିବ? ଏହି ସୁନ୍ଦର ବାଳକ ତୁମ କୁଳର ଶୋଭା ବଢ଼ାଇବ। ରୂପ ଓ ଯୌବନରେ ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ, ସେ ନିଜ ତେଜରେ ଦୀପ୍ତିମାନ। ହେ ମୂଢମାନେ! ଏହି ପୁତ୍ରକୁ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ତ୍ୟାଗି ତୁମେ କେଉଁ ଆଶ୍ରୟ କିମ୍ବା ଗନ୍ତବ୍ୟ ଦାବି କରିପାରିବ?
जम्बुक उवाच
