श्षपच उवाच भिक्षामन्यामाहरेति न च कर्तुमिहाहसि । न नूनं कार्यमेतद् वै हर काम॑ श्वजाघनीम्,चाण्डालने कहा--मुने! आप दूसरी भिक्षा ले आइये। इसे ग्रहण करना आपके लिये उचित नहीं है। आपकी इच्छा हो तो यह कुत्तेकी जाँघ ले जाइये; परंतु मैं निश्चितरूपसे कहता हूँ कि आपको इसका भक्षण नहीं करना चाहिये
śvapaca uvāca — bhikṣām anyām āhareti na ca kartum ihārhasi | na nūnaṁ kāryam etad vai hara kāmaṁ śvajāghanīm ||
ଶ୍ୱପଚ କହିଲା—ମୁନି! ଅନ୍ୟ ଭିକ୍ଷା ଆଣନ୍ତୁ; ଏଠାରେ ଏହା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବା ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ। ନିଶ୍ଚୟ, ଏହି କାମ କରିବା ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ। ଇଚ୍ଛା ଥିଲେ ଏହି କୁକୁରର ଜାଁଘ ନେଇଯାଆନ୍ତୁ; କିନ୍ତୁ ମୁଁ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ଭାବେ କହୁଛି—ଆପଣ ଏହା ଭକ୍ଷଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ।
