अनागतं विजानीयाद्‌ यच्छेद्‌ भयमुपस्थितम्‌ । पुनर्वद्धिभयात्‌ किंचिदनिवृत्तं निशामयेत्‌

Transliteration

anāgataṁ vijānīyād yac ched bhayam upasthitam | punar vṛddhi-bhayāt kiñcid anivṛttaṁ niśāmayet ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ— ଯେ ସଙ୍କଟ ଆଗାମୀକାଳରେ ଆସିପାରେ, ତାହାକୁ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଚିହ୍ନିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କର; ଏବଂ ଯେ ଭୟ ସାମ୍ନାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ, ତାହାକୁ ଦମନ କରିବାକୁ ଉଦ୍ୟମ କର। କିନ୍ତୁ ଦମିତ ଭୟ ପୁନଃ ବଢ଼ିପାରେ—ଏହି ଆଶଙ୍କାରୁ ତାହାକୁ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନିବୃତ୍ତ ଭାବିବା ଉଚିତ ନୁହେଁ; ସଦା ସତର୍କ ରହ।
