भीष्म उवाच अत्र ते वर्तयिष्यामि नीतिमापत्सु भारत । उत्सृज्यापि घृणां काले यथा वर्तेत भूमिप:

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | atra te vartayiṣyāmi nītim āpatsu bhārata | utsṛjyāpi ghṛṇāṃ kāle yathā varteta bhūmipaḥ ||

Translation

ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ— ହେ ଭାରତ! ଆପତ୍କାଳରେ ଅନୁସରଣୀୟ ନୀତି ମୁଁ ତୁମକୁ କହିବି—ଯାହାନୁସାରେ ସମୟର ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ହେଲେ ରାଜା କରୁଣାକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ତ୍ୟାଗ କରି, ସମୟୋଚିତ ଦୃଢତାରେ ଆଚରଣ କରିବା ଉଚିତ।
