Vetasa-Nīti: The Reed and the Flood (वेतस-नीति)

वेतसो वेगमायातं दृष्टवा नमति नापरे | सरिद्वेगेडव्यतिक्रान्ते स्थानमासाद्य तिष्ठति
Transliteration
vetaso vegam āyātaṃ dṛṣṭvā namati nāpare | sarid-vege ’py atikrānte sthānam āsādya tiṣṭhati ||
Translation
ସାଗର କହିଲେ—ନଦୀର ବେଗ ଆସୁଥିବା ଦେଖି ବେତସ ନମିଯାଏ; ଅନ୍ୟ ବୃକ୍ଷମାନେ ନମନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ତେଣୁ ସରିତାର ବେଗ ଶାନ୍ତ ହେଲେ ସେ ପୁଣି ନିଜ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ପାଇ ଦାଁଡ଼ି ରହେ।
