जनकस्य युद्धोपदेशः — Janaka’s Instruction on Steadfast Battle-Conduct
जनको मैथिलो राजा महात्मा सर्वतत्त्ववित् । योधान् स्वान् दर्शयामास स्वर्ग नरकमेव च
janako maithilo rājā mahātmā sarvatattvavit | yodhān svān darśayāmāsa svarga narakam eva ca ||
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ମିଥିଲାର ରାଜା ଜନକ ମହାତ୍ମା ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ତତ୍ତ୍ୱର ଜ୍ଞାତା ଥିଲେ। ସେ ଯୋଗବଳରେ ନିଜ ଯୋଧାମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ୱର୍ଗ ଓ ନରକ—ଦୁହିଁର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଦର୍ଶନ କରାଇ, ପରେ ଏପରି କହିଲେ।
भीष्म उवाच
The verse frames ethical instruction through direct experiential demonstration: a wise king uses yogic insight to reveal the consequences of karma—heaven for merit and hell for wrongdoing—so that warriors understand dharma not merely as theory but as accountable action with results.
Bhishma introduces King Janaka as a realized ruler. Janaka makes his own warriors witness heaven and hell by yogic power, setting the stage for a moral address meant to guide their conduct and understanding of righteous action.
