गता किल पृथा तस्य सकाशमिति न: श्रुतम्‌

Transliteration

gatā kila pṛthā tasya sakāśam iti naḥ śrutam | sandhiṃ kartum icchantī sā taṃ jagāda—“tvaṃ mama putraḥ” iti | kintu mahāmanāḥ karṇaḥ pṛthāyāḥ sāṃdhikām icchāṃ na pūrayām āsa ||

Translation

ଆମେ ଶୁଣିଛୁ—ପୃଥା (କୁନ୍ତୀ) ଆମମଧ୍ୟରେ ସନ୍ଧି କରାଇବାକୁ ଇଚ୍ଛା କରି ତାହାର (କର୍ଣ୍ଣର) ନିକଟକୁ ଯାଇ, “ତୁମେ ମୋର ପୁତ୍ର” ବୋଲି କହିଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ମହାମନା କର୍ଣ୍ଣ ମାତା କୁନ୍ତୀଙ୍କ ଶାନ୍ତି-ଇଚ୍ଛା ପୂରଣ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
