वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as timely protection: when those under one’s care are vulnerable, delay becomes a moral failure. Right action here is immediate guardianship and responsible leadership, even amid grief and political uncertainty.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, Kṛṣṇa (addressed as Mahābāhu and Janārdana) is urged to depart at once to safeguard the Pāṇḍavas, with the assurance that the speaker will meet him again soon—signaling urgency in securing the post-war situation.
