Duryodhana-śibira-praveśaḥ — The Pāṇḍavas Enter the Kaurava Camp; The Burning of Arjuna’s Chariot
(कुर्वाणं कर्म समरे पाण्डवानर्थकाड्क्षिणम् । यच्छिखण्ड्यवधीद् भीष्म मित्रार्थे न व्यतिक्रम: ।।
yāny akāryāṇi cāsmākaṁ kṛtānīti prabhāṣase
ତୁମେ ପୁନଃପୁନଃ କହୁଛ—“ଆମେ ଏହି ଅକାର୍ଯ୍ୟଗୁଡ଼ିକ କରିଛୁ।”
वायुदेव उवाच
The line challenges a blanket moral accusation: merely asserting that ‘we committed wrongs’ is not itself proof; ethical judgment must be grounded in context, intention, and dharma rather than rhetorical blame.
Vāyudeva addresses an opponent who is accusing the Pāṇḍavas of wrongdoing; this verse introduces that accusation in the opponent’s own words, setting up Vāyudeva’s rebuttal that their actions were dharmically justified in war.
