Renewed Summons to the Dice-Game and Exile Wager
भीष्म उवाच न धर्मसौक्ष्म्यात् सुभगे विवेक्तु शवनोमि ते प्रश्नमिम॑ यथावत् । अस्वाम्यशक्त: पणितुं परस्वं स्त्रियाश्व भर्तुर्वशतां समीक्ष्य
bhīṣma uvāca | na dharmasaukṣmyāt subhage vivektuṃ śaknomi te praśnam imaṃ yathāvat | asvāmy-aśaktaḥ paṇituṃ parasvaṃ striyāś ca bhartur vaśatāṃ samīkṣya ||
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ସୁଭଗେ, ଧର୍ମର ସ୍ୱରୂପ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସୂକ୍ଷ୍ମ; ତେଣୁ ତୁମ ପ୍ରଶ୍ନଟିକୁ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ଓ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାବେ ବିଚାର କରିବାକୁ ମୁଁ ସମର୍ଥ ନୁହେଁ। ଯେ ନିଜେ ସ୍ୱାମୀ ନୁହେଁ, ସେ ପରଧନକୁ ପଣ ରଖିବାର ଅଧିକାରୀ ନୁହେଁ; କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମ୍ପରାନୁସାରେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀକୁ ସ୍ୱାମୀର ଅଧୀନ ବୋଲି ଦେଖାଯାଏ। ଏହି ବିରୋଧୀ ନୀତିଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ଭାବି ମୁଁ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ ଦେଇପାରୁନି।
