Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how, in war, anger can drive decisive action, yet the ethical weight of such action remains: a warrior’s momentary wrath unleashes consequences that must be borne within the framework of kṣatriya-dharma. It also underscores the need for steadiness and discernment when sudden danger arrives.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Bhīma, enraged, throws a fierce spear-like missile (śakti) at Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son. The son sees the weapon rushing toward him instantly, compared to a blazing meteor.
