प्राज्लस्थ मूढस्य च जीवितान्ते नास्ति प्रमोक्षो5न्तकसत्कृतस्य । अतो विद्वन्नभियास्यामि पार्थान् दिष्टं न शक््यं व्यतिवर्तितुं वै
sañjaya uvāca |
prājlasta mūḍhasya ca jīvitānte nāsti pramokṣo ’ntakasatkṛtasya |
ato vidvann abhiyāsyāmi pārthān diṣṭaṃ na śakyaṃ vyativartituṃ vai ||
ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ—“ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ହେଉ କି ମୂଢ଼, ଜୀବନାନ୍ତେ ଅନ୍ତକ (ଯମ)ଙ୍କ ଯଥୋଚିତ ଗ୍ରହଣରୁ କାହାରି ମୁକ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ତେଣୁ, ହେ ବିଦ୍ୱାନ! ମୁଁ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ପାର୍ଥମାନଙ୍କ (କୁନ୍ତୀପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କ) ଉପରେ ଅଭିଯାନ କରିବି। ସତ୍ୟ, ଦୈବେ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧାରିତକୁ କେହି ଟାଳିପାରେ ନାହିଁ।”
