The verse highlights how royal courts employ art—dance and song—to glorify lineage and authority. Ethically, it points to the power of praise and spectacle to shape perception, sometimes masking the harsher realities surrounding kingship and war.
Sañjaya reports that performers at court begin dancing and singing melodious, rāga-colored songs that extol the Kuru line and offer praise directed to the king (Dhṛtarāṣṭra).
