Description of War Standards
ज्ञास्यन्ति लोका: सर्वे मां सुहृंदे सव्यसाचिन: । “कल देवता, गन्धर्व, पिशाच, नाग तथा राक्षस आदि समस्त लोक यह अच्छी तरह जान लेंगे कि मैं सव्यसाची अर्जुनका हितैषी मित्र हूँ
jñāsyanti lokāḥ sarve māṃ suhṛdaṃ savyasācinaḥ |
ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ— “ଆସନ୍ତାକାଲି ଦେବତା, ଗନ୍ଧର୍ବ, ପିଶାଚ, ନାଗ, ରାକ୍ଷସ—ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଭଲଭାବେ ଜାଣିବେ ଯେ ମୁଁ ସବ୍ୟସାଚୀ ଅର୍ଜୁନଙ୍କର ହିତେଷୀ ମିତ୍ର।”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal of suhṛt—genuine friendship as active goodwill. In a dharmic frame, one’s character and loyalties become publicly evident, as if before the entire world.
Sañjaya reports a declaration that all beings will recognize the speaker as Arjuna’s well-wishing friend, emphasizing publicly visible allegiance and support during the climactic violence of the Drona Parva.
