Subhadrā-vilāpaḥ — Subhadrā’s Lament for Abhimanyu
Droṇa-parva 55
yasya sarvaṁ tadā hānnam manobhīprāyagaṁ śuci | kāmato bubhujur viprāḥ sarve cānnārthino dvijāḥ ||

The verse highlights dharmic generosity: pure food, offered in harmony with the giver’s intention, becomes a rightful support for brāhmaṇas and other dvijas who seek sustenance—emphasizing hospitality, purity, and willing giving.
Nārada describes a situation where the person’s provisions are openly available: brāhmaṇas and other twice-born who come seeking food partake of it freely and according to their desire, indicating an established practice of feeding worthy guests.
