Bhagadatta’s Advance, the Saṃśaptaka Challenge, and Arjuna’s Counterstrike (द्रोणपर्व, अध्याय २६)
अभिनिक्षेप वेगेन युयुधानस्त्वपाक्रमत् । युयुधान (सात्यकि) अपने रथको छोड़कर दूर हट गये और उस महान् गजराजने शिनिपौत्र सात्यकिके उस रथको सूँड़से पकड़कर बड़े वेगसे फेंक दिया ।। ४३ $ ।। बृहतः सैन्धवानश्वान् समुत्थाप्याथ सारथि:
sañjaya uvāca | abhiniṣkepa-vegena yuyudhānas tv apākramat | bṛhataḥ saindhavān aśvān samutthāpyātha sārathiḥ |
ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ—ହଠାତ୍ ଭୟଙ୍କର ନିକ୍ଷେପର ବେଗରେ ଯୁଯୁଧାନ (ସାତ୍ୟକି) ସେଠାରୁ ପଛକୁ ହଟିଗଲେ। ସେ ନିଜ ରଥକୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ଦୂରେ ସରିଯିବାମାତ୍ରେ, ସେଇ ମହାଗଜରାଜ ଶିନିପୌତ୍ର ସାତ୍ୟକିଙ୍କ ରଥକୁ ସୁଣ୍ଡରେ ଧରି ମହାବେଗରେ ଛାଡ଼ିଦେଲା। ପରେ ସାରଥି ସୈନ୍ଧବ ଦେଶୀ ଘୋଡ଼ାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଉତ୍ତେଜିତ କରି ମହାବେଗରେ ଆଗେଇଲେ; ଯୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଏପରି କ୍ଷଣକାଳୀନ ପଛହଟ ଓ ପୁନଃ ଆଗ୍ରସର ନିଷ୍ପତ୍ତିରେ ପ୍ରାଣ ଓ ଧର୍ମର ପରୀକ୍ଷା ହୁଏ।
