Yudhiṣṭhira’s reassurance and praise of Kṛṣṇa, Arjuna, Bhīma, and Sātyaki
स गाढविद्धों बलिना भारद्वाजोी महायशा: । निषसाद रथोपस्थे कश्मलं च जगाम ह,बलवान वीर धृष्टद्युम्नके द्वारा गहरी चोट पहुँचायी जानेपर महायशस्वी द्रोणाचार्य रथके पिछले भागमें बैठ गये और मूर्च्छित हो गये
sa gāḍha-viddho balinā bhāradvājo mahāyaśāḥ | niṣasāda rathopasthe kaśmalaṃ ca jagāma ha ||
ବଳବାନ ଧୃଷ୍ଟଦ୍ୟୁମ୍ନଙ୍କ ଗାଢ଼ ଆଘାତରେ ମହାଯଶସ୍ବୀ ଭାରଦ୍ୱାଜ (ଦ୍ରୋଣ) ରଥର ପଛଭାଗରେ ଢଳି ବସିଗଲେ ଏବଂ ମୂର୍ଛିତ ହେଲେ।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the fragility of embodied life even in the most renowned heroes: martial prowess and fame cannot prevent sudden physical collapse. Ethically, it reflects the grim impartiality of war, where duty-driven combat brings unavoidable suffering and reversals.
Sañjaya reports that Droṇa, grievously wounded by a powerful opponent, slumps onto the chariot-seat (toward the rear) and falls into a fainting fit, marking a momentary incapacitation in the battle.
