भीष्मवधाय प्रयाणम् — The Advance toward Bhīṣma and Counter-Engagements
भृशं क्रुद्धश्न तेजस्वी नाराचेन समार्पयत् चित्रसेनं महाराज तव पुत्रं महायशा:
bhṛśaṁ kruddhaś ca tejasvī nārācena samārpayat | citrasenaṁ mahārāja tava putraṁ mahāyaśāḥ ||
ସଞ୍ଜୟ କହିଲେ—ନରେଶ୍ୱର! ମହାୟଶସ୍ୱୀ ଓ ତେଜସ୍ୱୀ ଭୀମସେନ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ କ୍ରୋଧିତ ହୋଇ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଚିତ୍ରସେନଙ୍କୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ନାରାଚ ବାଣରେ ପ୍ରହାର କଲେ।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical strain of righteous warfare: even a famed hero, driven by intense anger, must act within the harsh framework of kṣatriya-duty, where personal emotion and moral cost coexist with battlefield obligation.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Bhīma, burning with anger, attacks Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son Citrasena by shooting him with a nārāca arrow, marking a sharp escalation in the combat.
