स मुहूर्त तथा ध्यात्वा पुनरेवाब्रवीद् वच: । असंशयं पार्थिवेन्द्र काल: संक्षिपते जगत्
sa muhūrtaṃ tathā dhyātvā punar evābravīd vacaḥ | asaṃśayaṃ pārthivendra kālaḥ saṃkṣipate jagat ||
କିଛି ମୁହୂର୍ତ୍ତ ଧ୍ୟାନ କରି ସେ ପୁଣି କହିଲେ— “ହେ ପାର୍ଥିବେନ୍ଦ୍ର! ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଭାବେ କାଳ ଜଗତକୁ ସଂକୋଚିତ କରୁଛି, ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କୁ ଶୀଘ୍ର ଅନ୍ତ ଦିଗକୁ ନେଇଯାଉଛି।”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the sovereignty of Kāla (Time): it drives events toward their inevitable end, reminding rulers and warriors that worldly power and life are transient and that urgency and humility are appropriate in the face of impermanence.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that, after a moment of reflection, the speaker resumes speaking to a king, emphasizing that Time is rapidly bringing the world to a decisive turning point—setting a grave tone for the unfolding conflict.
