Discipline of Meditation and Mental Restraint
श्रोत्रादीनीन्द्रियाण्यन्ये संयमाग्निषु जुद्धति । शब्दादीन् विषयानन्य इन्द्रियाग्निषु जुह्नति
śrotrādīnīndriyāṇyanye saṁyamāgniṣu juhvati | śabdādīn viṣayānanya indriyāgniṣu juhvati ||
କେତେକ ଯୋଗୀ ଶ୍ରୋତ୍ର ଆଦି ସମସ୍ତ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟକୁ ସଂଯମରୂପ ଅଗ୍ନିମାନଙ୍କରେ ହବନ କରନ୍ତି; ଅନ୍ୟ କେତେକ ଯୋଗୀ ଶବ୍ଦ ଆଦି ବିଷୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଇନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟରୂପ ଅଗ୍ନିମାନଙ୍କରେ ହବନ କରନ୍ତି।
अजुन उवाच
Spiritual practice can be framed as inner yajña: either restraining the senses by offering them into the fire of discipline, or engaging sense-objects in a purified way so craving is burned up rather than increased.
In the Gītā dialogue on the battlefield, Arjuna is hearing about various forms of sacrifice; this verse describes two yogic modes of inner sacrifice involving senses and their objects.
