वे मानससरोवरमें निवास करनेवाले हंसरूपधारी महर्षि एक साथ उड़ते हुए बड़ी उतावलीके साथ कुरुकुलके वृद्धपितामह भीष्मका दर्शन करनेके लिये उस स्थानपर आये, जहाँ वे नरश्रेष्ठ बाणशय्यापर सो रहे थे ।।
sañjaya uvāca | te tu bhīṣmaṃ samāsādya ṛṣayo haṃsarūpiṇaḥ | apaśyañ charatalpasthaṃ bhīṣmaṃ kurukulodvaham ||
ହଂସରୂପ ଧାରଣ କରିଥିବା ସେ ମହର୍ଷିମାନେ ଏକାସାଥି ଉଡ଼ି, ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆତୁରତାରେ କୁରୁକୁଳର ବୃଦ୍ଧ ପିତାମହ ଭୀଷ୍ମଙ୍କ ଦର୍ଶନ ପାଇଁ ସେଇ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଆସିଲେ, ଯେଉଁଠି ନରଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ଭୀଷ୍ମ ଶରଶୟ୍ୟାରେ ଶୟନ କରୁଥିଲେ। ସେଠାରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ହଂସରୂପୀ ଋଷିମାନେ କୁରୁକୁଳୋଦ୍ବହ ଭୀଷ୍ମଙ୍କୁ ବାଣଶୟ୍ୟାରେ ପଡ଼ିଥିବା ଦେଖିଲେ।
