वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that success, especially in a dharmic enterprise, is not merely a product of strength but is supported by spiritual merit and the blessings of realized sages; mantra-recitation symbolizes alignment with cosmic order and ethical legitimacy.
Vaiśampāyana reports that groups of exalted sages—Devarṣis, the Saptarṣis, and Brahmarṣis—collectively begin japa (mantra-recitation) to secure and bless Arjuna’s victory.
