Marutta Seeks Saṃvarta’s Priestly Support; Conditions, Truth-Discipline, and Rival Powers
गमयिष्यामि शक्रेण समतामपि ते ध्रुवम् । प्रियं च ते करिष्यामि सत्यमेतद् ब्रवीमि ते,निश्चय ही मैं तुम्हें इन्द्रकी बराबरीमें बैठाऊँगा और तुम्हारा प्रिय करूँगा। मैं यह बात तुमसे सत्य कहता हूँ
gamayiṣyāmi śakreṇa samatām api te dhruvam | priyaṃ ca te kariṣyāmi satyam etad bravīmi te ||
ହେ ନୃପ! ମୁଁ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ତୁମକୁ ଶକ୍ର (ଇନ୍ଦ୍ର)ଙ୍କ ସମତାକୁ ଉଠାଇଦେବି; ତୁମ ପ୍ରିୟ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟ କରିବି। ଏହା ମୁଁ ତୁମକୁ ସତ୍ୟ କହୁଛି।
संवर्त उवाच
The verse highlights satya (truthfulness) as an ethical seal on a promise: the speaker binds himself by declaring his intention as truth, presenting reliability and moral accountability as integral to granting power or fulfilling desires.
Saṃvarta addresses another person with a firm assurance: he will elevate them to parity with Indra (Śakra) and fulfill what they desire, framing the pledge as certain and truthful.
